Making things out of wood has become more popular with the improvement in technology over the years. Tools and machinery have increased in quality and safety and at the same time become more affordable.

The popularity of making things for use around the home means more affordable tools for the hobbyist. Years ago the only decent power tools that were available were too expensive for the occasional woodworker. We are in the fortunate position today that the hobby is popular enough for tool manufacturers to develop machinery and tools that are more affordable.
